In line with the Borough’s ‘Vision for the Royal Docks’ and ‘Arc of Opportunity’, Store Road provides 163 new high-quality homes in an area of North Woolwich earmarked for thousands of new homes and jobs. The site itself is surrounded by under-used industrial land and is situated in both City Airport’s safety zone and a designated floodzone.
BPTW demonstrated rigorous attention throughout the design process which enabled them to overcome these challenging site constraints and achieve at least 30% family housing, where every home has waterfront views and access to generous community amenity spaces.
The building is shaped by generous and balanced proportions as well as crisp architectural detailing, creating a welcoming impression at street level. Complementing this, the diverse outdoor spaces each offer their own character, further enhancing the impressive design quality of this exciting landmark scheme.
As a result, the scheme acts as a catalyst for development on the waterfront whilst optimising buildability and cost efficiency to ensure viability and value for money.
