Appointed by Westerhill Homes, BPTW have designed a scheme of family homes and apartments to suit a diverse community, located within three pedestrian-friendly and low traffic ‘homes zones’. Alongside new high-quality dwellings, residents have access to picturesque green spaces, designed by landscape architects LUC.
Homeowners will have a choice of three ground floor layouts, including an open plan living arrangement or alternatively traditional dividing walls. To create variety across the streetscape, nine different cladding materials will be offered, all of which are inspired by architectural typologies found in local villages. Residents will also have the opportunity to choose between a range of biodiversity enhancements, encouraging a drive towards sustainability across the masterplan.
Ebbsfleet Development Corporation praised the quality of the proposal, endorsing the planning officers’ report that stated: “The proposal…sets out an extremely high quality of architectural design which will deliver attractive buildings set in home zones allowing social interaction, which will be complemented by quality landscaping.”
The scheme was shortlisted at the Housing Design Awards 2022.
