As the contractor’s first BIM project, BPTW supported the client and contractor in establishing a Common Data Environment (CDE) for the first time. This included training for both parties on using the CDE and creating workflow transfers between contractor and client CDEs.
BPTW’s team advised on the requirements for information exchange stipulated in the EIRs (Employers Information Requirements), Asset Information Requirements (AIRs) and Employers Requirements (ERs) and oversaw information exchange. Importantly, we validated the RIBA stage 4-6 information against the EIRs and AIRs and managed the digital handover of the RIBA stage 6 information upon completion.
Our actions have included reporting on BIM protocol compliance, reporting on BEP quality control processes, and managing the information exchange process. We have conducted a clash detection process to enhance technical design accuracy and design team coordination, as well as validated the RIBA stage 4-6 information and managed the RIBA stage 6 digital handover and the Project Information Model updates after the Defects Rectification Period.
