We are thrilled to announce that Alkerden Gateway, our scheme for Westerhill Homes in Ebbsfleet Garden City, has received planning approval. The development represents the first custom-build phase within Ebbsfleet Garden City near Swanscombe, Kent and offers 67 homes within a characterful new neighbourhood forming a prominent gateway to Alkerden Village and in future, its wider community amenities.
Following a detailed, virtual community consultation process, BPTW developed designs, working in collaboration with landscape architects LUC, which offer homeowners a series of three ground floor layouts as well as a choice of nine cladding materials, creating variety across the streetscape. Encouraging an overall drive towards sustainability, homeowners will also have flexibility over parking allocations – with the option to remove spaces as needs change – and will have a say on additional biodiversity enhancements on their property, including wildflower gardens, fruit trees, PVs as well as bee and bird bricks.
Architecture Partner Chris Bath, said:
“Marking the only custom-build phase in the wider Whitecliffe masterplan, for us, Alkerden Gateway, presents an exciting opportunity to design an innovative community that both speaks of its setting, and embraces the full potential of a homeowner-led, organic variety across the scheme.
Over the past few years, we’ve been proud to be involved in projects at Ebbsfleet Garden City and across the South East, and this development demonstrates our continued commitment to delivering high-quality new homes and transformative new places for the area. We’re delighted to see Alkerden approved at committee and look forward to seeing the next stages of the project come together.”
We look forward to seeing the scheme progress over the coming months.
