We are pleased to announce that Peter Sofoluke has been shortlisted for the 2024 BPIC (Black People in Construction) Awards in the Mentor of the Year category.
Peter is an RIBA Chartered Architect and Director with 17 years’ experience. He leads a design team in the practice and has played a pivotal role in the mentoring and career development of several students at BPTW, also holding an RIBA Part 3 examiner role at three universities. Through BPTW’s ‘Careers in the Built Environment’ programme, he has supported several prospective architecture students over the past year, giving them early exposure to the practical side of the architectural profession.
Peter has been instrumental in guiding BPTW’s EDI strategies, spearheading the practice’s relationship with the University of Sheffield and London School of Architecture (LSA) towards more hybrid educational routes.
“Peter has attended reviews and workshops diligently over the last two years with student commenting frequently on his nurturing and thoughtful responses to their work. He has led the way in supporting our Part 2 students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds and I have felt personally reassured that these students receive his mentorship.” – Neal Shasore, Chief Executive, The London School of Architecture
We are incredibly proud of Peter for achieving this very worthy recognition of all his hard work both in and out of projects, to make the architectural industry more equitable and diverse and support the next generation of architects with their career journeys.
