We have come to the end of a full programme of activities over the past five days at the studio to raise awareness for mental health awareness week.
To recognise this year’s theme of anxiety, a breakfast morning gave everyone the opportunity to come together to have an open conversation on mental health, with staff sharing stories and techniques they use to relieve anxiety and stress. This included a discussion on mindfulness and meditation, sharing online resources, a session on the importance of exercise and mental wellbeing, and a presentation highlighting our practice benefits in relation to supporting better mental health.
To encourage conversation and action, we also had lunchtime board games sessions in our café space, have held a number of yoga sessions at the studio, and hosted two social events including our International Fair which brought our staff together to celebrate the cultural diversity of the practice.
It’s important to talk about our mental health; the following organisations offer support and have useful resources for anyone struggling:
What we do – Mind – Mind – A leading mental health charity offering help through information, advice and local services.
Our work | Mental Health Foundation – A charity working towards good mental health for all
Home | The Clive Smith Foundation– aims to offer understanding and support to people experiencing mental health problems, particularly in the Built Environment.
