We are pleased to announce that our Passivhaus development Hartopp and Lannoy Point is shortlisted for the 2023 Inside Housing Development Awards.
Delivered by BPTW architects and planning consultants for LB Hammersmith and Fulham, Hartopp and Lannoy Point provides 134 new homes, 84% of which will be affordable, in three apartment buildings surrounding a new communal open space. The energy-efficient scheme is designed to Passivhaus Classic standards with a Zero Carbon ethos that reduces carbon by 86% and drives down heat loss and energy use, helping residents save on their bills. The scheme secured planning permission with unanimous approval last year following close collaboration between BPTW and the current estate residents, the local community, the council and the Disability Forum.
BPTW Partner and affordable housing champion, Neill Campbell, reflected on the lasting benefits of local authorities incorporating net zero and Passivhaus strategies into affordable residential design in a recent insights piece, titled “Sustainable Design for Local Authorities”.
