We are thrilled to announce that four of our projects have been shortlisted at the Housing Design Awards 2022 – a wonderful achievement that recognises some of the beautifully-designed, high quality schemes we have worked on.
Alkerden Gateway is a custom-build scheme of 67 homes alongside picturesque green spaces in Ebbsfleet Garden City. Appointed by Westerhill Homes, BPTW designed a development that offers homeowners a choice between different floor layouts, cladding materials and a range of biodiversity enhancements, creating a scheme which is visually interesting and of an excellent quality.
Rochester Riverside Phase 7 will create 152 new homes for Countryside and Hyde and builds on the established design principles from earlier phases, creating two new character areas that continue to draw on the architectural narrative of one of the UK’s most historic cities. New bespoke house typologies have been introduced in this phase to serve a diverse community and overcome the challenges of building on the narrowest site in the masterplan.
Ebbsfleet Harbour Village will create 532 new homes in a strongly defined neighbourhood in Ebbsfleet Garden City for Bellway. A context-based design narrative shapes the scheme with inspiration being drawn from the site’s former industrial past. Numerous public realm enhancements have also been an integral part of the design with connections between the River Thames and existing estates being re-established.
Our design for Whitecliffe at Alkerden Village for Bellway is inspired by Swanscombe’s rich farming and industrial history with three character typologies, workers’ cottages, farmhouses and farm buildings, being created. Standard house type elevations have been adapted to define these characters and create a high quality development of 182 homes for a range of residents in Ebbsfleet Garden City.
We look forward to the winners being announced in July.
