BPTW is pleased to announce its ongoing support for Future of London’s Council-Led Housing Network (CLHN) ), a programme designed to provide peer to peer support, share good practice and give access to expert knowledge for London’s council-led delivery teams.
The programme, sponsored by the GLA, was borne out of a recognition that London boroughs are delivering a new era of council housebuilding to help reduce the housing crisis, and are looking to grow their inhouse skills and expertise to support this mission.
BPTW is part of a panel of industry specialists who will support the network over the next 2 years, offering our expertise and knowledge in relation to our architecture and urban design specialism. Our work with the network will be led by BPTW Partner Neill Campbell who leads on much of the practices’ work with Local Authorities.
Neill commented: “As architects and urban designers BPTW has been collaborating with councils for many years to support housing delivery and create more and better homes and places which meet the needs of communities. We see the role of council housebuilding as being vital to meeting the challenges of the housing crisis across many areas from supply to quality, safety, affordability, and sustainability. Building up the capacity and expertise of our council development teams is extremely important to meeting these challenges, and we are delighted to offer our own architectural expertise and continued support for The Future of London’s Council-led Housing Network.”
The Council-Led Housing Network will be formally launched on Wednesday the 26th July where Neill will be speaking alongside London Deputy Mayor Tom Copley, CEO of Future of London Nicola Mathers, and speakers from Red Loft, Potter Raper and TLT who are also supporting the programme.
