Last week we were delighted to run further workshops with students at Langdon Park School in Tower Hamlets to support their Design, Engineer and Connect course. The sessions were delivered as part of our social value commitments on the regeneration of the Teviot Estate.
Our Head of HR, Louise Conder, Associate, Alessandro Chiola and Architectural Assistant, Jordan Collins shared their expertise with the students and encouraged knowledge sharing through student presentations at the end of each session.
The BPTW team worked with Year 9 students to design a pavilion for their local park, considering how the design and location of pavilions can create inclusive, accessible and sustainable spaces. The team also explored what makes a good home with the Year 8 students, including a brainstorming session on improving home floorplans and understanding the surrounding spaces to meet the needs of residents.
Using the HACT methodology, BPTW is working closely with Poplar HARCA and Hill to deliver a detailed social value package at the Teviot Estate which is tailored to the specific needs of the community. Working closely with existing residents, our team is designing a scheme which will provide circa 1,750 new homes as well as a range of high quality green and play spaces, shops and community facilities.
