We are thrilled to announce that Constable Road and Rembrandt Drive, our scheme of 7 age-friendly homes for Gravesham Borough Council, has been shortlisted at the Inside Housing Awards in the ‘Best older peoples housing development’ category.
Our design for Constable Road and Rembrandt Drive offers an innovative approach to rightsizing, providing a bespoke housing typology with homes that significantly contribute to the health, wellbeing and long-term quality of life of tenants whilst also freeing up large family homes in the borough. Developed through a collaboration between Gravesham Borough Council and BPTW, the typology is characterised by ample amenity and storage space, a wheelchair accessible layout, and a flexible room in the roof, suitable as a hobby or home office room, additional storage or as an occasional space for guests or even future carers to stay. The project can be used as a precedent for future development to address the needs of downsizers in the borough.
