As part of our giving something back initiative and continued work to support a number of local charities, on Wednesday evening 12 staff members took to the water to participate in the Property & Construction Rowing Challenge on behalf of The Ahoy Centre. The challenge was an 8.5 mile row on the River Thames past the Houses of Parliament through the centre of London, under Tower Bridge with the finish at the Ahoy Centre in Greenwich.
BPTW have supported the Ahoy Centre for a number of years and this is our fourth time participating in the event. The charity offers life-changing training, courses and programmes to both vulnerable/disadvantaged young people and disabled people who need help and to be given an opportunity in life. A big well done to our teams who raised £4000 for the charity, including a contribution from the practice.
It was also great to row alongside a number of familiar faces including L&Q, Swan and Notting Hill Genesis on the evening. Team 1 ‘Sharkitects’ came in 7th with a time of 1.25.07 (despite dragging a tree along with them for part of the way), and team 2 “Last Boat not Least” lived up to their name coming 12th with a time of 1.36.02. We are pleased to have been able to assist the Ahoy Centre and look forward to continuing our support.
