Published in 2018, the Hackitt Report introduced recommendations for the creation of an entirely new regulatory framework for monitoring fire safety in buildings. In this article published by Sapphire, Róisín offers her opinion on several of the key headlines from the report. This includes a recommendation for the creation of a single authority to overview the whole construction process and bringing it under one purview, and a framework with a clearer sense of responsibility and accountability.

As an industry this is the time to re- evaluate current procurement methods and create awareness of what needs to change to see that we are designing and building with quality construction and life safety at the fore. //
