The Role

We are looking for a Document Controller to join our diligent document control team, who play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and organisation of our document and information management systems. They ensure that our work adheres to the necessary QA and BIM standards and work across multiple projects daily. The document control team works alongside our BIM and IT teams supporting efficiency in project delivery across the practice.

Ideally, we are looking for someone that has experience of working in an architectural practice in a document controller role, but would also be interested to hear from you if you have transferable skills gained from an administrative role which involves complex and detailed document and information management. The role requires someone who is equally comfortable with both team working and taking ownership of tasks.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a similar or comparable role
  • Experience of maintaining complex document control and information systems to a high standard of accuracy
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using information management systems such as Viewpoint, Dalux, Sharepoint, Asite or similar

 

Preferable:

  • Knowledge of QA and BIM standards
  • Experience of working within an architectural practice
  • Experience of using AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Experienced in using Excel commands such as If statements and VLookup
  • Microsoft Projects knowledge
  • Knowledge of ISO19650-1 & 2
  • Knowledge of ISO9001
  • Experience of preparing files from Revit

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately updating, maintaining and auditing document control system and file structures to ensure adherence to QA and BIM standards
  • Accurately filing, uploading and downloading drawings and associated documents to internal and external information management systems
  • Ensuring architectural teams adhere to document management, CAD/Revit and BIM standards/procedures
  • Keeping accurate records of incoming and outgoing project information, including collating and uploading project team comments
  • Revit/CAD – Translating files to other formats and preparing them for external use
  • Using Dynamo to extract data from Revit files
  • Creating Excel templates for Practice use
  • Produce project programmes using Microsoft Project
  • Undertake internal audits for our ISO9001 accreditation
  • Identify areas for improvement in procedures and workflows
  • Taking part in Practice meetings and working groups
  • Assisting the BIM team with Information Management projects
  • Supporting the Partner and wider team/practice with any related duties

A salary of £26,000 to £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
