The role

We are looking for a qualified Architectural Technologist who is keen to progress within one of our dedicated architectural design teams.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of all RIBA stages, in particular stages 3-6, and a collaborative approach to development and knowledge sharing. They will have professional, post qualification experience gained in an architectural practice, preferably working on the delivery of large-scale UK residential and regeneration projects.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients is a must, as well as being comfortable with working in an open-plan multi-team studio.

A good understanding of UK building regulations is essential. Experience with specialist warranty providers such as NHBC or LABC is not essential but would be beneficial to the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Post qualification experience of working on UK residential and regeneration projects (preferably largescale)
  • Experience in preparation of technical delivery drawings and good knowledge of contraction detailing
  • Technical knowledge of current UK Building Regulations….
  • Technical knowledge of current building safety legislation as it relates to fire safety design and detailing
  • Awareness of RIBA work stages, predominately 3-6
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • High level of competence in and up to date knowledge of Revit and NBS software

 

Preferable

  • Demonstrable competence in technical detailing
  • Awareness of industry standard construction technologies
  • Experience with specialist warranty providers such as NHBC or LABC

Project Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project drawings from REVIT model in compliance with QA and Safety management Systems.
  • Ensure the adequate integration of technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings.
  • Produce modelling schemes in BIM
  • Research project briefs, materials and construction products
  • Prepare drawings for planning, tender or construction purposes.
  • Prepare reports and documentation & document control of incoming third-party material & design information.
  • Administer project related information in line with standards and procedures of the Practice.
  • Draft NBS specifications, researching products and construction method
  • Update Associate on project progress & key issues
  • Communicate project requirements to the Associate and suggests appropriate resource
  • Prepare and presents information DTM
    • Maintain CIAT Code of Conduct
    • Co-ordinate and liaise with internal and external parties/teams
