BPTW’s BIM coordination and architectural design services for Hyde have developed a residential scheme of 163 new high-quality homes in North Woolwich.

As well as acting as architects, BPTW created a clash detection strategy on this project to enhance coordination and minimise design errors before construction commencement. This strategy included writing a modelling protocol to ensure the accurate transition of information from one format to another. From there, a list of clash detection sets was created along with a tolerance and responsibility matrix listing who is responsible for remedying the clash, the tolerances assigned to the items and the severity level of the clash. Clash detection is undertaken monthly, and a clash report is issued to all consultants ahead of a coordination meeting.
