The Role

We are looking for an experienced assistant or qualified Architect who is keen to progress within one of our dedicated architectural design teams.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate aptitude and drive towards project ownership and delivery, with a collaborative approach to development and knowledge sharing. They will have professional, post qualification (Part 2/Part 3) experience in an architectural practice, preferably working on the delivery of large-scale UK residential and regeneration projects.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients is a must, as well as being comfortable with working in an open-plan multi-team studio.

A good understanding of UK building regulations is essential. Experience with specialist warranty providers such as NHBC or LABC is not essential but would be beneficial to the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Post qualification experience of working on residential and regeneration projects (preferably largescale)
  • Ability to lead on projects and work as part of a larger team
  • Ability and confidence to act as a liaison between clients/contractors and consultants
  • Up to date working knowledge of UK building regulations, NHBC and/ LABC warranty criteria and building safety act
  • Skilled in the use of REVIT software
  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and SketchUp
  • Strong conceptual design skills
  • Proven design experience in practice

 

Preferable

  • Construction detailing skills
  • Experience with specialist warranty providers such as NHBC or LABC

Project Responsibilities

  • Carry out the detail design within the framework of the project objectives including drafting and REVIT work for the project
  • Prepare and maintain project drawings in compliance with QA Standards
  • Research project briefs, materials and construction products
  • Ensure the adequate integration of technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings
  • Prepare drawings for planning, tender or construction purposes
  • Draft and amend concept, detail and technical designs
  • Assist with preparation of written specifications, where appropriate
  • Assist with preparation of reports and documentation & general administration of project information
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with internal and external parties/teams
