We were delighted to welcome the Teviot Resident’s Steering Group for a tour of our studio and a discussion about the Teviot Estate masterplan in Tower Hamlets.
The landmark Teviot Estate regeneration will transform Poplar with 1750 new homes, shops, community and faith facilities surrounded by new and enhanced green spaces. Working alongside Poplar HARCA and Hill, BPTW is delivering a community-led design process and a substantial social value programme that puts resident and stakeholder aspirations at the heart of the masterplan. As well as welcoming the Resident’s Steering Group, we have used different engagement methods to consult the diverse community, including meetings with local councillors, estate walkarounds with residents and stakeholders, large-scale community engagement events, festivals and online consultations.
As part of our social value programme for Teviot, we held careers workshops, work experience placements and mentoring, and a STEM-focused careers programme for young women. We have also provided bro-bono design work and made financial donations to improve the Teviot Community Centre – a local community asset.Â
We look forward to continuing our engagement with the community as we progress the design of high-quality homes for residents at the Teviot Estate.
