We are pleased to announce that we have submitted a planning application for 134 new Passivhaus Classic homes on the former Hartopp and Lannoy Points in Hammersmith for Hammersmith and Fulham Council. This landmark application is a milestone for the project, achieved through ongoing collaboration between Aintree Estate residents, the local community, Hammersmith and Fulham Council, the Disability Forum, and the design team managed by BPTW.
Replacing two rundown 14-storey buildings unfit for modern living, the new development will provide three apartment buildings ranging in height from three to seven storeys and a new community square alongside the reprovision of affordable homes for 112 existing households. Our design is rooted in a Zero Carbon ethos and harnesses Passivhaus design principles, including a fabric-first approach with an intensive form factor, PV panels and air source heat pumps, to reduce net carbon by 86%.
BPTW’s architects and planning consultants supported the project’s development, including establishing a yearlong consultation process that respected the Council’s Defend Homes and Co-Production policies in collaboration with a community engagement specialist.
