We would like to announce that after 24 years with the practice, Architectural Partner Andrea Hilton will be retiring from BPTW at the end of March. Throughout her time here Andrea has been an integral member of the practice, making a significant contribution to project work and nurturing the skills of many talented designers.
Andrea has written the following words:
I was extremely excited to join BPTW in 1998 as I was already aware of the practice and the type of socially conscious projects it was known for.
My time at BPTW has been life-changing and I feel fortunate to have been given every opportunity to develop my career to partner level. Working with numerous wonderful people in a thriving, successful and staff-focused practice, I have met many great people during my 24 years at BPTW. I have also been able to collaborate with a variety of clients, contractors and consultants across a vast number of exciting projects. However, I feel that now is a good time for me to step back from architecture as I look to pursue other interests, especially travelling.
I want to thank everyone who has been part of my journey. I genuinely believe we make a positive difference together, which is what architecture should be about after all.
After making such a substantial contribution to the practice over the last 24 years, we are extremely sad to see Andrea leave. Throughout her time with us, BPTW has grown and evolved, taking on a significant number of important projects which have been delivered to an exceptional standard, supported by her leadership.
The practice has spent the recent months preparing for Andrea’s departure with an already established operational structure in place to manage the transition. BPTW continues to build a strong leadership team who can support our practice of over 120 staff and work closely with clients in meeting the changing demands of the housing sector. As part of this, we recently appointed Róisín Ní Chatháin and Steve Smith as partners at the practice; they will both play a significant role in driving the business forward in the years to come and continuing to take BPTW from strength-to-strength. We have also made a number of Associate level promotions which are helping to fulfil our future aspirations including addressing the challenges of climate change and the need for high quality, sustainable neighbourhoods.
We wish Andrea the best of luck on her travels and in her future endeavours.
