Appointed by LB Newham, this innovative four storey apartment building provides 17 new apartments and duplexes alongside a landscaped pocket park.
Passivhaus principles were incorporated from concept stage to create new homes for LB Newham’s residents that are easy to heat and maintain. The dynamic, open courtyard building maximises the southern aspect for better internal daylight levels and passive solar gain. All homes are dual or triple aspect and benefit from a super insulated thermal envelope. BPTW’s Passivhaus design reduces carbon emissions by 67% through the use of air source heat pumps, efficient building fabric and combined blue and green roofs.
This sustainable project is being delivered as part of a package of sites for LB Newham, many of which are being designed to Passivhaus Standards to help the Council with their goal of delivering sustainable and affordable homes.
