We are pleased to have recently achieved planning approval for 6 new homes in Gravesend on behalf of Gravesham Borough Council. Responding to local housing need, the scheme at Albert Murray Close will regenerate an unused site with 4 flats, as well as 2 detached bungalows which provide suitable homes for elderly residents or those with impaired mobility.
With the irregular shaped site located on underused open spaces between existing homes, the design has responded by incorporating bespoke typologies which successfully navigate the site’s constraints and proximity to neighbours; a flexible solution to overlooking and privacy issues is achieved through well-considered building forms and layouts as well features such as oriel windows.
We have been working closely with the council for a number of years as part of their new build programme; to date we have secured planning permission for around 180 homes on a variety of complex infill and regeneration sites across Gravesham, and look forward to continuing our work with the council.
As part of our ongoing work, the practice recently commenced our post-planning delivery work on Valley Drive; the Housing Design Award shortlisted scheme is providing 48 new homes for the council.
